Default Health Insurance carrier???

Does anyone know who the health insurance carriers are in OR? We are moving from the east coast and currently have GHI.

Thanks.

I can speak a little to the insurance carriers in the Willamette Valley, but I'm not sure about the rest of the state.

Kaiser Permanente has a presence from the Portland Metro area down to Salem, but I don't believe they are anywhere else in the state.

Pacificare is a pretty big HMO. My wife and kids have an HMO through United Healthcare. I'm on an HMO through Cigna, and I had an Aetna PPO for a while before my company changed carriers. Blue Cross has a presence as well.

I'm sorry, I've never heard of GHI. I think it's smart of you to check this out before moving. I've heard some horror stories of people seeking healthcare in more rural areas and their provider not accepting their insurance.

Check out Pacific Source, they are reasonable and very easy to deal with.
