Default Ashland preschool and/or childcare programs?

This forum is wonderful! I have used it for research many times in the past when considering a move. Well, now we have finally made a decision to actually move, not just consider it! We are moving back home.

My husband and I are both from Ashland and are moving back after being away for 7 years. We have a 2 1/2 year old who currently attends a wonderful preschool/daycare center several days per week. His current school is wonderful, with a very good teacher to child ratio. It has been great, as far as education (accredited curriculum) and socialization, more than just a standard daycare. What are our options in Ashland? Also, can anyone share any personal experiences?

Thanks a lot in advance for your help.

Default ?

I don't know of any child care centers in Ashland, although I'm sure there are some. I worked swing shift, and was never able to use traditional child care, but many of my friends used "Discovery Corner", in Phoenix, which is about 15 minutes from Ashland.

You know, I also had a good friend who worked at Southern Oregon University's day care, so I know they have one there, and it's in Ashland.

I sent both of my boys to First Presbyterian Pre-school in Medford. They were SO incredible, but they're a pre-school, and not a day care, although the Sara Corson Childcare center is right next to it, and I hear it's really good too.

Thanks for the reply, bluebird.

We are specifically looking in the Ashland area. I am aware of the one at SOU from when I went to school there. But I need to look into it further. Anyone have any information on it?

We do want a preschool, not really a daycare. But our son won't be 3 until the end of November and I don't know if that affects the "preschool" (vs. "daycare") qualification?
