Thank you Mclaurin!

I just used Pottery Barn as a way to say that I will be furnishing my hopefully small space (not moving furntiture from where I am) and that I don't need an Ethan Allen, Stickley or Baker. PB and Target will be fine for me.

Yes, a library is important. At least for the next few years I need to be really frugal. I have not heard of Monmouth but will be sure to research it.

Still, my primary concern is where to find housing with my cats while I look. At this point anywhere safe with a futon from Target will be okay for a start. And a garage, even if I have to live in it.

Welcome to Oregon
A word on mobile home--manufactured home parks..We live in one in north-east salem and love it.our house was new 7 years ago.
our park is a 55 plus park and welcomes pets..
when you come up and start looking, look at the condition of the park, talk to residents, location too..we are close to shoping and I-5...How well do residents keep up their yards that type of thing.
we bought up here a little over 7 years ago and found the house with a fenced yard that fit us.we have a small dog..the thing that impressed us was the park was very clean and the yards well taken care off..we pay rent on our park space and get our mail at the club house.
it can be pricey to up date and older home, ours was brand new..
guess thats all I have to say
good luck

In some communities there are groups such as Friends of Animals. Maybe you can line up feline foster care for a few weeks.
