Default Vale

Iammarby...Could you tell me a little about the living conditions of Vale. I have been offered a job in town. How bad are the winters ( I moved from Boston to the Willamette valley after the 100 year snow storm in 1979) Do you know anything about the crime rate...I know it won't be like Portland's, but I'm just curious as to what type of problems are there.

Oldgoat, your are replying to a post from September of last year so you might not get an answer. You might be better off starting a new thread.

You should consider a town in SE Washington like Walla Walla. That way you don't have a state income tax and can do your major shopping in Milton Freewater, OR where there's no sales tax.

Walla Walla's a nice little town and is big enought to have medical facilities.

Retirees don't stop to think about being stuck in-between two canyons in the winter, which makes going to Boise or Portland to see doctors/specialist, shopping or airports very tough at times. The Baker City post (in red) sounds like a Realtor!
I'm sorry to hear that, sounds like the imports to Bend are now importing your way
