Do you know a thing or two about geodesic domes or yurts?
Hello
My name is Bobby and I am in the process of building a geodesic dome to live in. I'm currently in the planning stages, hitting the books and experimenting with small scale models. By the end of the month, this thing ought to be up! It's all very exciting.
At this point, I'm looking to meet folks that might know a thing or two about geodesics and yurt structures. I have all types of questions regarding insulation, rain protection, etc. Maybe we can get together and share some ideas.
I can be contacted at [email}moderator cut[/email]
Thanks for reading!
Bobby

i know well someone that has an incredible dome house they built from ground up themselves, no kit or anything. Took em a couple of years, and believe me, its a beautiful home. They do have a very cool site w/pics from start to end. I dont think there are any inside pics, besides when it was in the framing stage, but they do have a disk that has way more infor on it. Its really very incredible, a local landmark to many too. I think its cool that they did it by themselves, no kit or anything, just drew up plans and dreams and went from there. anyhow, their site is C and R Enterprise - Geodesic Dome Project Book on CD-rom - A Detailed Chronology - Geodesic dome home project book on CD-ROM with virtual construction - might give you some ideas...
good luck, and happy home building!

Look up Pacific Yurts in Cottage Grove, OR they are on the net. Also Oregon Yurtworks.

I built and live in a geodesic dome in Denver, Colorado. I've been in it for over 25 years and can hardly imagine living in any other house, unless I had to.
Ask away.
