You will find a large contingent of Mariner fans, but some of the older, um, more "experienced" folks may still pull for one of the Bay area teams as until relatively recent history they were the closest major league teams.

You'll also find some folks still follow the Phillies, since the Eugene Emeralds, once in the PCL was their AAA team.

Here in Southern Oregon, the Oregon State Beavers are pretty hot, along with the amateur leagues. You never hear about pro baseball. You hear more about Volcano Stadium than the Volcanos.

That's interesting. I would think that Rogue Valley residents would associate with the SF Giants or Oakland since there are a number of Bay Area transplants.

We live in Salem and are big Volcano fans..Have tickets for tonights home opener against Eugene.
Its just fun to go over there and see these young men play their hearts out..
We are also big Mariners fans too..

We just bought tickets to the Eugene Emerald's 4th of July game vs. the Canadians! Go Ems! Fireworks show after the game.
