My family and I are looking to move to the Medford Area this summer. I can see the housing is much less expensive than Southern California, but how is the job market.

I'm in the accounting field (clerical). Any info would be appreciated.

The job market in Southern Oregon is poor at best, the southern counties run the highest unemployment rates in the state, Jackson county is at 12.7%, Josephine county is at 14%, Klamath county is at 13.5%. The Southern part of the state has always had a depressed economy since the late 70's. There are jobs to be had here in Southern Oregon however most of these jobs are at minimum wage ($8.50 p/hr).

To be honest, the job market is fairly weak in the best of times, and pretty awful now.

What type of work do you do?
