yea it sucks here. you wont like it here. so dont come to coos bay. stay out, meth zombies everywhere. lol. just kidding, Coos Bay is an AMAZING place to live. dont let these people fool you. They think they are smart by lying about how "bad" it is here because this place is a gem and most people that live here don't want a bunch of *******s moving in. Like anywhere, there are low life people who use drugs, there are homeless, but not any more then anywhere else.
Coos bay area is a great place to raise kids, especially for the homeschoolers and unscoolers or people who unschool or homeschool their kids. Coos Bay is surrounded by nature, state forests, hiking trails are abundant, great surfing and fishing, Coos bay is a peaceful place with a low crime rate. Coos Bay is very 2nd Amendment friendly town that is OPEN CARRY friendly and it is not uncommon to see people open carrying firearms. Downtown Coos Bay has about 10-20 pubs/restaurants (some open till 10pm-2AM) a casino, there is a growing retail boom in the downtown area and there are a ton of other restaurants and store and shops in Northbend.... unfortunately we have a walmart but thankfully no homedepot, we do have a great independently own hardware store which is better than homedepot because it is not corporate. if you like the ocean this is a great city. if you like green forests this is a great area.
