Hi there! I am originally from Oak Harbor, WA. I have been living in Charleston, SC for the past 17 years. I am wanting to relocate back to the West Coast to be closer to my family. I miss the 4 seasons.

living on the out skirts of town would be ideal for my 3 active dogs. I would also like to be within less 35 minutes from the beach and be close to active dog training clubs. At least witnin 30 minutes of a hospital for work.

What would you suggest?

Needing to be near a Hospital narrows you down a lot. Astoria, Seaside, Tillamook, Lincoln City, Newport, Florence, Coos Bay, Brookings are your cities. Some of the smaller cities might have urgent care offices.

I don't know anything about "dog training clubs," on the coast. What kind of dog training are you looking for?

He is from Oak Harbor, WA. He knows that.

I like accessibility to a major airport so the north coast would be where I would start but if that is not a concern of gundogs then Brookings would be a great choice. That said Brookings is a long drive to family in Oak Harbor.

Dog training clubs are akin to equestrian clubs. He will need to research that independently. I do know that there is a strong bird dog culture on Sauvie Island. In terms of accessibility to dog club stuff, a hospital, & visiting family in Oak Harbor, Astoria may be the best choice.
