In my limited observation most cosmetologists rent a space in a shop, they are independent businesses. Once they build up a clientele some work out of their homes (with inspection and zoning permits).

Perms (aka waves) are not in high demand, at least in my circle. Color, yes. Unlike the east coast it is rare that a woman goes to the beauty shop weekly. Few wear much makeup either.

Those of you who visit the VA campus in Roseburg, what do the police do? Do they patrol, or just sit inside the hospital as liaisons/security?

From my experience at the Roseburg VA facility the police do patrol the grounds, I haven't seen many of them inside the facility, but that doesn't mean they're not there.

We have many awesome, beautiful, heart pounding, exciting rivers, creeks & even the lakes & reservoirs, to fish for salmon, steelhead, sturgeon, trout, bass, catfish, crappie, etc...+ the ocean species like tuna, ling cod, rockfish, salmon, etc.

On the fishing forum a few members own ocean charter ships or on the crews of. Some members are fishing guides. Some folks frequently, carefuly fish the ocean jetties, piers. It is prudent to be careful of the tides. Some go crabbing or clamming often.

Montana is a very beautiful state (Big Sky Country). We fortunately had the awesome adventure of going to Glacier Nat Park. Did some fishin' on the way. We have wonderful memories.

Here in Oregon the ODFW does stock many waterways with trout. We have several fish hatcheries which can be visited.

I was there a couple weeks ago. I happened to notice an officer giving out tickets to three car's parked on the edge of hospital parking. I think his car said "VA Hospital Police" or something on that order.

Ocean fishing is pretty good. We have sea bass, ling, halibut, flounder, coho salmon, chinook salmon (taste much better than Atlantic salmon), dungeness crab and pretty good clamming. The best use for sea bass is as bait for ling cod. You hook a sea bass, and the thrashing will attract a ling, which swallows the sea bass whole. If you are careful to ease them to the surface together, you can get a net under the ling before he spits out the bass and gets away. Charter fishing is available in good weather from any small coastal town.

Salmon sport fishing is entirely hatchery fish. If you catch a wild salmon, you have to throw it back. Every legal salmon has a clipped fin. There are spring and fall salmon runs in all the rivers. The North Umpqua is one of the premier trout streams of North America. There is a barbless hook, no live bait section that sends fly fishermen into paroxysms. If you want trophy sized trout to eat, ODFW has stocked Diamond Lake with some huge rainbows. Steelhead fishing is popular on the lower Umpqua.

My husband is a vet. He and I visited the Roseburg VA for the first time, last week. We were impressed by the place. We parked our car and he was having blood drawn in..literally...less than 5 minutes!! It seems like a pretty nice place. Easy to get in and out of. I don't remember seeing any police. I bet it would be a nice place to work.

Howdy kady, my friend.

Over the last five years or so several areas of the hospital have been remodeled. They have built a new snack bar/restaurant area also. Pretty Nice.

I was there on Halloween. All the folks who work in the hospital were dressed up in costume. heeheehee
