Howdy, Hawk! How have you been?
I'm not surprised that everyone dressed up for Halloween. We got a great vibe from everyone.

I go to the VA hospital in Roseburg at least once a month. Compared to other VA facilities I've been to, the service and attitude there is far superior. They are not a full-service facility, but there are efforts being made to overcome this. They have a new administrator. and things seem to be improving.

It does 'rain' in Roseburg on occasion, but most of the time you will have fog, mist, drizzle, sprinkles or light rain. Mainly you are looking at cloudy and damp. It might 'rain' every day for a week, and it might amount to less than an inch of rain. Most of the rain falls north of Roseburg. You really don't need a raincoat or umbrella here. This area is located in the Umpqua basin, which is known as the land of a hundred valleys, so lots of hills.

In the summer months it is dry and very nice, Roseburg features a free summer concert "in the halfshell" in a park along the river. About 25 miles south in Canyonville is Seven Feathers Casino for year round fun, food and entertainment. They have a lounge show most every night, and a major monthly attraction. Next month is Sha-Na-Na. Tickets start at $10.

My wife says there are a lot of beauty salons in Roseburg. She goes to a beauty salon in Myrtle Creek, south of Roseburg. They recently expanded to add massage and other services, and they are usually busy. Most beauticians rent their chair and build up their clientele, some just work 2 or 3 days a week. Hope this helps.
