I have a very small old Honda 90 motorcycle that was designed for both off road and on road use. Here in CA it is street legal (has lights, mirrors, turn signals etc.) but can not be driven on freeways (which would be suicidal anyway). I am wondering if this type of small motorcycle that is 90 cc's is street legal in OR? I just use it for puttering around and was looking forward to riding it if I relocate to rural OR until it occured to me it might not be legal? Anyone know? Also, is there such a thing as a motorcycle "permit" (or something equivalent) in OR, which is less than a full scale motorcyle license? Here in CA, a permit does not require a road test, just written tests and eye exam and does have the restriction of carrying no passengers and not driving the bike at night. If no permits, what does an OR motorcyle license require to obtain? Sue-z

yep,
you will need to take a test to be legal. |

co-sign.
You must pass both a written and riding test to receive your motorcycle endorsement. As long as the bike is street legal, you may ride it wherever you please. |

Thanks both of you for the info. I've always ridden with just a permit because too "chicken" to take the road skills test, guess I will finally have to take the plunge.
seekNsun: I see your loction is KF, that's the primary area I am resaerching for relocation. Are there country roads with little traffic around there that would be nice for motorcycle riding? What would the comfortable riding season be? Like just the 3 months of summer? Thanks! sue-z |

Thanks for the great info! This sounds perfect, I need to brush up on my skills anyway, and this will work out great plus I avoid the dreaded road skills test! So looking forward to riding the backroads in OR. sue-z |
