Hello Everyone,

I am curious since the weather 9 months out of the year is " inside " weather for birthday parties, do you see a lot of companies advertising for events. For example, mobile airbrush tattoos, photo booths, clowns, jumpers ( bounce house)? Right around when we move it will be our children's birthdays so I want to look and shop around. If there isn't a lot to choose from I totally understand. Being in Arizona there are a lot of bounce house companies to choose from but little mobile airbrush tattoo companies. Do you think that business would even survive in Oregon? Just curious and I always love to hear others inputs on here. Thank you for your time.

Most people in Salem mostly have birthday parties at their homes just like we did when we were kids. I don't know anyone that hired a clown. People will hire the Reptile Man (who is hilarious and great), do a tye dye party (the person that does them is also great), or there are 1-2 companies that rent bounce houses but we don't have a lot of demand for those here. AC Gilbert house is really popular for parties.

Pietro's Pizza is also really popular for parties as they have lazer tag. Kids also do the movie theater parties at Northern Lights or at Regal Cinemas. Older kids often have parties at Sky High in Tigard, Safari Sam's in Tualatin, Pump it Up in Wilsonville, or the Family Fun Center in Wilsonville. But people have to drive to get to those.

Alright! Thank you for that information. Down where I reside companies have Fundraisers, or even Gran nights and they hire the Temporary Tattoo companies to be part of their festivities. But those companies also do birthday parties, carnivals, state fairs and some at outdoor mall kiosk. Obviously the weather is a huge factor so I was assuming that maybe some companies do mobile birthday parties too. We have pizza places here and jump zones which can be a lot of fun for the young ones. I was just seeing the options before I promised anything to the kiddos. I would love to have the temporary tattoo be mobile we had that last year out here and it was a lot of fun and all the street kids loved it. it wasn't that expensive either. just the same as you would pay per kid at a pizza parlor out here.

We're in Eugene. We've been to several fundraiser birthday parties. Some were at a roller skating rink, one was an ice skating party, two were at bowling alley's, a third was at the Raptor Center (kid was way into birds of prey) and another was at an indoor soccer place.

I organized a carnival fundraiser once and we had temp tattoos. We did them ourselves... or are you talking about the airbrushed kind? We weren't that fancy! We did the kinds you get damp and press onto the skin. Simples.

Fun feather extensions for your hair are probably the most popular thing right now... the middle school aged girls are especially crazy over them.

With the economy the way it is in Oregon, a lot of people are opting to have either fundraising type birthday parties to help those in need, or to have smaller parties in their homes. And especially by late middle school and definitely high school age most kids just want to have a sleepover for their birthday. Paintball (indoor) and lazer tag are popular, still, though for that age group.
