Default Thinking of moving fr Reno to Medford area

I believe that the Oregon state income tax is 9%. Is that correct?

So, if I make $100k, then the state is going to take $9k / 26 paychecks... $356 per paycheck more than I am paying now?

Is this correct?

Yikes.

See if you can download some of the form information.

Maybe look at the department of revenue for a source.

But it should be based on your income, credits and a few other things - not a flat rate.

Default Norm

There is nothing that I don't particularly like about Reno. My wife is from Ashland. Now Ashland is too expensive for us, but she would lke to get somewhere close. We were married in Ahslnad, and I like the area too, so am not opposed to moving there.

Just thinking I am going to take a big hit in state income taxes.

Thanks,

Doubt the taxes will be much to deal with.

Forget about the taxes - think about the mountains !!

We're in the area, and here's a photo from the bottom of our acre looking over the library in Applegate Valley toward the mountains (you've been in Ashland, so you know). Our other view east, is of the mountain where the paragliders launch. We watch them from our back deck.
