I get the humor, but this isn't out of the question. In 'n Out has been expanding for atleast four years, moving into Utah and Texas. I think one stumbling block in WA and OR would be strong local franchises like Burgerville in OR/and SW WA, and Dick's in Seattle. But time will tell.

Fatburger : Locations By State

Federal Way, WA would be closest to Oregon.

There used to be two In 'n Out drive-ins in Winston, not affiliated to the chain, but the best hamburger in the state that isn't custom made. A few years ago they changed the name to Winston Drive-In, but they still have the best burgers in the state. Fresh burger, grill toasted bun, home made sauce, lettuce, tomatoes, onions and pickles on request. They taste like hamburgers tasted 50 years ago. There are a bunch of gussied up burgers on the menu, but ignore them and just order a plain burger, no fries. The fries are not good.

For good fries, my favorite is the Arctic Circle in McMinnville.

Now if I could just find someplace that makes a real 1950s milk shake, with hard ice cream and fresh berries.
