Are you renting? What area are you moving too? The prices depend a lot on your location. If you are located near an area with a lot of new and expensive buildings going up, prices will be higher than in those areas that are old and a little rundown.
Of course if you are moving and you already know where you are going, your shopping will probabvly be done in that area. The area up around the Veterans hospital can be pretty spending. You can get some good deals out by the Cineplex, but you have to look for them. If you shop at Safeway in the center of old town, hang on to your purse. There are some new stores that have gone up out in the direction of the airport that were pretty reasonable, haven't been there in awhile. I know how to get to all these places, but don't know the names of the streets.
After you get established, go exploring. Take a notebook with you and compare prices. You can also write down anything you might find of interest that you might want to come back to later. Get to know your new town, have a little fun, and bring an umbrella.
Lots of luck

I lked Roseberg. It was a combo of new and old. There was some new stuff and some hilljacks. Logging was big, not my thing. I like trees.

It is going to grow soon IMO, but 4 months ago I felt the rent and housing costs where upside down. Only reason we didn't move there. Do your homework! Compared to So Cal that might not be the case but what a small home was going for there could buy me a farmhouse on some serious acreage in the midwest. And there are more jobs here

Good luck

I was raised in Roseburg and go there to visit family. Roseburg rains about 275 days a year (giving you 90 days of sun), has very little amount of shops, low rent, and very conservative. Expect to shop in Eugene once a season for anything unique. Unlike what others love to say about it, it is NOT hillbilly country. The people are fanatical about local sports and aggressively homophobic (typical of smaller towns- so don't think this is unique). It has better schools than Eugene or Medford and far less crime (I lived in both). The better places to live in Roseburg are in the Melrose area which is on the outskirt of the Garden Valley Blvd. Low income area of Roseburg is the area going toward Sutherlin and toward Winston. It has good hiking, is near the coast, and milder weather thanks to it being within its own valley. I find the city nostalgic and pleasant to be in even though it doesn't share my political views. It is a good place to grow up.
