You probably need to narrow down what part of Oregon you are looking at. Oregon has mountains, rivers, dessert areas, etc. It would be helpful if you had a specific area of the state in mind. Western Oregon is green and wet, Eastern Oregon is dry. Are you looking for a big city like Portland or a small town? Do you need to be close to a bigger city or do you prefer to be in a more rural area? Just some things to think about to help you decide where you want to live. I would suggest going to oregon.gov(the state website) it might be able to give you more info. on the state as a whole, such as state taxes, laws, etc.

Sure, but you are limited to whoever happens to be on the forum.

Its a partial risk, because on some forums, there will be users showing an Oregon city as their location, when they may really be out of state.

At least you can find out what IS available and what IS NOT available.

I think the good and bad stuff "statewide" is not very relevant, unless you want specific city information.

Every state has jobs, businesses, crime, drugs, good people, bad people, etc.. People could argue on here till their face turns blue about whether Oregon has good schools or not, or Texas. But a lot is opinion, and in almost any state, a good education could be had somewhere.

So I think that the climate and culture may the two of the most important aspects about a state. Really, is it the climate and culture that you want to live in?

Aside from that, any other good or bad thing can be dealt with, gained or avoided in one way or another.
