To jcx456, Random walk, and hawk, thank you for the POSITIVE suggestions! So many people on this board seem intent with dashing ideas into the mud.. Its good to see the opposite.. Yes, I may fail, but also, I may end up succeeding in my endeavours.. It does happen.. Yes, my ideas are usually radical, and so called "normal" people don't have the sense of adventure, risk, or balls to go through with them.. I've always had those though.. No, I don't drive, never have.. Gas powered vehicles are for those who can afford them.. I never had the kind of income necessary to drive.. However, I am very used to extreme hardship, from my entire life it seems, so what a "normal" person couldn't live with, I find personally easy to deal with.. And by the way, on the "nature" of my camping practices, I don't use tents, as they can be seen easier, and I sleep in different spots every night, with a camo dark green military sleeping bag, rated for 30- below zero, along with a completely waterproof dark green camo bivy, also military issue.. I ONLY sleep after sundown, and wake before sunrise, while its still dark, and roll my stuff up.. I am quite prepared in many ways.

FYI, and for the umpteenth time, don't go try sleeping on the beach. It's a good way to get killed.

Another FYI: If you have something that's a bit delicate around water (e.g. computer gear), you'll want a good, solid and waterproof means of carrying and keeping it.... it rains a LOT out here. Also, rolling up and putting away something when its wet will lead to it getting moldy in a hurry, and did I mention that it rains a lot out here?

Already preparing for that.. I'm designing my own personal waterproof and airtight case for my netbook and portable harddrive.. Which is what I use for my home business wherever I go.. And rain is the number 1 reason I'm coming there! I remember in my hometown, during the spring and fall sometimes it would rain, I mean REALLY rain(hard) for literally 6 weeks at a time! Many people around me would be depressed, downtrodden, and melancholy.. I, on the other hand would be uplifted.. During storms and rainy weather, I can actually feel energy in the air, and it enriches me.. Sunlight, and especially TOO much sun, has the opposite effect on me, I get very depressed and actually lose energy.. Been like that my entire life..So needless to say, I am preparing for rain...

And you will shower where? Temp of the water is aprox 50* most of the time, not great for swimming .

And oh yea! the bathroom moments!? and what cigaret lighter willl you use to charge the battery in the computer?

Just a few of the questions that haven't been answered already.

Your camo sleeping bag and rain gear is going to stand out like a sore thumb on the coast BTW.

Haha, thanks woof.. Back in the days I was in school(early 1980's), I REFUSED to do homework all my years there.. I firmly believed(and still do) that schoolwork belonged in school, period! Home is supposed to be "me time".. Good thing I never had a kid(and never will), he'd NEVER have to do homework! I live by my principals!

My point was, even as a kid, I had very strong ideas concerning life, and the will and determination to stick by my beliefs about what was right, and what was not, and which continues to this very day. (Another run-on, consider revising. This would also be the start of a new paragraph.). Yes, a billion chinese (Chinese is capitalized) people CAN be wrong! Hence, my motto as follows: (revise to Hence, my motto Sometimes a majority vote simply means that all the fools are on the same side! You need an apostrophe) completely backwards, and definitely wrong in morality. (Fallacy argument. You may want to consider revising this with proof to back up such a statement) .And rewards complete greed and selfishness!
Fixed that for you.

May I suggest that what you really want is the opposite of what you're stating? This is just amateur psychology here based on nothing more then a half dozen psychology and behavioral science classes coupled with a few dozen years observances of the human behavior. Not to mention a lot of self analyzation, personal meditation, vision quests, and dating a psychologist or two. I do see a bit of myself in you too.

It seems to me that you were failed by the education system. Instead of realizing that you should have put in a bit of extra hard work (perhaps because you didn't know how,) you're sub-conciously blaming yourself. You use the above self justification because you feel stuck in your role in society. Instead of being a failure which is not admired in this society, you've put yourself up as the lonely rebel archetype. After all everyone loves a Rebel in America, especially Oregon! This leads to your lashing out at the members of this forum when we tell you that what you want isn't possible, doubly so because we're not instantly falling in love with your Rebel personality.

Instead of internalizing that and realizing that at first we really did have your best interests in mind when answering your questions, you felt we were attacking you. Perhaps even that we're wanting you to fail and would take pleasure in doing so. Your continued retaliatory statements and refusal to take what is being told to you at face value all point back to this fundamental opportunity for self improvement.

I do think you're headed in the right direction. You realize that you're at a point that you're stuck in life and you're just never going to make it. You see Oregon as an opportunity to completely wipe the slate clean and are desperate to do so. You also feel stuck because perhaps you feel you've only got one choice anyways, and Oregon is it. Hence your disbelief in what's being told to you. Your continued presence here highly suggests this, despite the fact that you're loosing credibility every day.

I would highly suggest that instead of moving here to Oregon just to get a crap job and hopefully die soon in decent scenery, you move somewhere with a cheap College Education system and start a course of self-improvement. Heck, you could even do that here in Oregon and if it didn't work you'd still have the benefit of being able to walk off a tall cliff any time you wanted.

The Oregon Coast Community College maybe of some interest to you. If you go to school the college has a jobs program and can help you get employment of some sort. You'll have better luck going through them then just walking around asking for a job. I still think Lincoln City will be your best ratio of cheap cost of living/employment opportunities anyways and still put you on the coast. I'd suggest you pursue a CS degree. It's not the worst field to be in, and there are plenty of companies like Stream and ACS (now Xerox,) along with Comcast that are always hiring low end help desk people, even those with out a degree. That is if you can stand the high pressure of the job.

You seem to have some entrepreneurial spirit, you could pursue that also. Get a cheap video camera and approach schools, coaches, trainers and parents to film athletes on field. Then sell copies of the DVDs. This would be huge among the "want to be college athlete" crowds. You could even help those guys put together clip videos that they could send to college recruiters.

Please help from anyone with info on small oregon towns near water.. Thanks..

All previous BS aside, have you looked at living in Washington?
Seriously I think that the area around Willipa Bay/Grays Harbor around the towns of Raymond and Aberdeen just might be a fit for you.

Working class, less tourism, same type of climate, close to mountains, right on the water, beautiful scenery, etc.
Just what your looking for that's hard to find here. Almost like Jessica Fletcher's "Cabot Cove".
You could find part time work shucking oysters, fixing nets, wrapping crab pots, or general labor at the mills or something.

Go over to the Washington forums and ask around.

People in WA are typically less ****** and more ********* than us Oregonians.
Besides, Washington ********* are *********!!
