Road Repair
Be sure to check tripcheck.com before heading out this summer. I just heard an interview with ODOT on the radio. They will be doing tunnel work on 58 and slide repair on 138 this summer. I'm sure there will also be road work on 20, and probably other areas too. You don't want to be stuck waiting for a pace car while trying to get to the campground by check in time, particularly if you can't even call because there is no cell service where you are stuck.

Hwy 58 is completely closed at the tunnel from this afternoon until (I think) Saturday morning (June 4-8). Otherwise it's closed nights from 8pm to 6 am, until construction is done.
This week is supposed to be the only full closure. We were there last week and it was a 10 minute wait one way and 15 minutes the other (still faster than any other route for us).

Thanks for the reminder, Larry! We're headed out on a road trip at the end of next week - will definitely now remember to check TC for updates.

I check that thing like it's a religion...
Where I live, not knowing that, say, Hwy 6 was closed-off? It would mean backtracking and then going up to 53 (then 26), which would cost a metric ton of drive time, and make a royal mess of things.
