Default Oregon Manufactured Home Parks

Have about made up our minds to move to the Portland area. We are looking at a Mobilehome Park idea... Does anyone know of any park that will allow you to purchase the land as well as the mobile/manufactured home it sits on? It seems most parks let you own the home but rent you the space. I have heard that with land prices skyrocketing the land owners might prefer to develop the land or sell to developers and I just can't picture me pulling the darn house down the road looking for a place to park it!!! Any info would be appreciated

The only place I found that was a "new" park where you owned the land was in Silverton
The lots are around $50,000

Name: Silver Cliff
Address: 1015 Oak St
City: Silverton
County: Marion
State: OR
Zip Code: 97381

Wink Buying Park land

KimoJimo, you will rarely find a park that will sell you the land. They make their money by renting out the land your house is on.

If I were you, I would look for a manufactured home that is already on it's own land. There are lots of them. You can get anywhere from 1/16 of an acre, to 5 acres of land. Try to get one that is on a foundation, and has been detitled.

I personally think that M.H's. are better built than a site built home now days. A site built home has gone through rain and cold weather as it was being built. A M.H. has been built indoors and is built by stricter standards nowdays. They are framed with 2x6's rather than 2x4's. There is a stupid stigma for some reason against M.H.'s. It's probably from the old days ...50 yrs ago when they weren't built as well as now days. People just can't let go, once they get a stigma in their (stupid) head. It's their loss though. hahaha.
