Default Moving from Canada

Hello All,

I have some issues to take care of in Medford that are probably going to last the next 6 - 8 months or so and as a result am moving down there. I currently live in Vancouver, BC (Canada) and know very little about the Jackson County area in general. Basically I am going to need a a job, not really career based though as I will be leaving in less than a year. But one that will pay me enough to live and eat while also paying for other expenses (gas, car insurance, etc).

I was wondering if anyone has some advice as to where to start looking for employment and acommodation? I don't particularily have to live in Medford, Ashland would be fine as well or really any other city near by. The type of job I will need is going to have to be able to pay $15/hr minimum and be able to provide me with full time hours (30-40/week).

Another quick question: I have access to an RV a friend is willing to let me rent from him. If I did this is there a park somewhere around that I could set it up in for the time period mentioned? I thought this might be a way to save some money. As I am also not sure how easy it will be to get an apartment on a lease agreement that is less than 12 months. Does anyone know if that is possible?

Thanks for any and all help offered.

1. Do you have a work visa? They don't hand those things out easily.

2. What skills do you have that justify $15 an hour?

3. Yes, there are RV parks. It would probably be a lot cheaper than an apartment. However, some apartments rent on a monthly basis. No lease.

I should clarify that I am an American citizen so a work visa is not an issue. As far as a skill set goes I have worked as an Electrical Tech for Dolby Laboratories doing R&D. Also I have done geophysics work at several mining camps as well as held many hospitality industry jobs (Hotel management, Chef, Bartender, etc.) so my experience is decently extensive. I also have two years of undergraduate study completed. What are apartment rental rates going for in the Medford area? I assume they are up there but the market in Vancouver is currently insane and the rates here are through the roof. In this city downtown I am paying $1465/month for a one bedroom condo. Thanks for the reply.
