I was just in Clarkdale. I guess you have been here already and know Klamath Falls is a lot different? I hope you are not looking at Beatty area site unseen.

Some things about Clarkdale are very nice. We are currently in a 55+ MH park which is fairly affordable, but we don't like the lifestyle and want our own place (been here less than a year and previously lived in a rural area, half acre, lots of gardening, wildlife, etc) again. The cost of living here is higher. Sales tax of almost 11% even on food! We are retired on a fairly modest income so not too worried about state income tax in Oregon. Hate hot weather, too. Not as bad as Phoenix here but still 2 to months in the 100s and even 110+ occasionally. Don't mind cold weather and some snow. We've been doing A LOT of research on the area as far as things to do, weather, lifestyle, things to do, etc, and it sounds like it will fit the billl. We will be in an RV and plan on taking our time to find the right home for us.

No, hadn't considered Beatty - too far out for one thing. Like rural living but don't want to be more than 10 miles out if that. The main negative areas from what I've learned so far is the Mills area. Love old cottage type houses but don't want to live in a dumpy area either.

Were you visiting in Clarkdale? Did you get up to Jerome? Or go on the Verde Valley scenic train? It is a really nice ride. My husband actually has a PT job on the train.

I sure appreciate any and all input on Klamath Falls. You and others have been so helpful.

Klamath KOA is on Shasta Way and very close & convenient to stores, shopping, vet clinics, hospitals, etc. You can get a monthly space at $375, + $25 for cable, and then power is metered. Metered power is just for the permanent monthly sites, where there is usually a waiting list. Oh, and they do have Wi-Fi, that works pretty good, but sometimes it does get a bit, uh, cranky!
