Is Donald, OR a good place to live in?
Is Donald, OR a good place to live in? Is it safe? My main concern is crime level/property theft/burglary, that kind of stuff. I work in Portland, Wilsonville and Lake Oswego are too pricey for me. I checked out Woodburn and Gervais, and it is frightening what is happening with those towns. Like you are in Mexico. What about Donald? What is that mill on the west side of the town across the railroad? Thanks.

It's not really a mill. Probably a grain elevator. No real "industries" there and what's there is agribusiness. There's not a lot in Donald, barely a thousand people, although housing is MUCH less expensive. As for the Mexican population--that is what you're alluding, too, right?--shouldn't be too large since the town is so small. A number of commuters live there because it's affordable. Might want to check with the city hall about crime rates, demographics.

Downside about living in Donald? Depends on what you're looking for. You've got to figure that a town with barely a thousand residents is not going to have any amenities when it comes to shopping, dining, arts and culture. It is beautiful there and out in the country so I'm sure crime is practically non-existent. I believe the school district is North Marion. If so, it's a wonderful school.
Anything else?

I couldn't care less about shopping, dining, arts and all that stuff. I'm loooking for a safe, quite, clean neighborhood with affordable houseprice and no crime. And no mexicans. I did several drivebys, there are some beatup houses. Want to make sure there are no house burglaries, ot thefts, etc. Do you live in that area?

I don't live in the area, but I know it well. If you're looking for a place with no Mexicans, try Yukon Territory in Canada because they're everywhere anymore, my friend. There will probably be a few there. My observation is that a number of people moved there for affordable housing close to Portland. It depends on what your definition of affordable is.

Please!
If you find a good place in Oregon let me know.
I had ancestors who died cleaning this place out.
Doesn't anyone remember our history?
Did they die for nothing?

KOC: I don't think Donald is a bad place to be. I think you'd be very happy there from what you're looking for.
