Hi Rosalie, I grew up in Oakridge and Westfir area also. My father worked at the mill with your dad I believe it would be. My last name is Love. My dad was Gerald (Jerry) Love. I went to school with Joe and still see him once in a while. Oakridge is an awesome place to live and raise a family. My 3 kids are grown up now, but they also feel a deep kinship with this small community. My oldest in living in Burns, but I am sure when she decides to have a family she will come back home to Oakridge. I look forward to coresponding with you and am happy to give you my email address I use most frequently [Mod cut feel free to send an email anytime you'd like.

Have a great day and if you'd ever like pictures I'd love to take some of the local area and send them to you. Just let me know what you would like pictures of.

Your new Friend,

Linda Love

Hi, I sent the email a few minutes ago. I was actually sending the email to the Oakridge person up above your email address. If any one would like to reply that would be fine. I have lived in Oakridge always and could most likely answer any questions they might have. Thank You and sorry for taking up your time. Linda

Default Ketchikan or Oakridge or Cave Junction

As you can see I have a tough decision to make...My concern about Oakridge is that it seems to be down river from a lake...any one know the elevation of the lake compared tp the elevation of the town of Oakridge, any one worried about flooding???? Thanks

My father was the Presbyterian minister in Westfir until 1956 when he died. I remember Westfir very well and would like to come back for a visit. I would like to ask the following questions about Westfir :

1) Is the Presbyterian church still in existence in Westifr? Does anyone know the name of the church?

2) My father was a fly fisherman and I spent a lot of time watching him fly fish for trout. I would like to find out the spot we often went to but I was too young to remember exactly where it was. I do remember it was not too far from Westfir and it was a popular spot. The spot on the river was close to a bridge. Any ideas where it could be?

3) There is a park close by Westfir with a beautiful waterfall. The last day of my father's life was spent there on a church outing- a picnic. We had lunch on picnic tables very close to the waterfall. I can still see it in my mind. Does anyone know where that could be?

My name is Gail and please contact me at [EMAILMod cut.

Thanks for any help.

I lived in Oakridge until I was 10 and then my family moved to SE Alaska for work. I have a lot of great memories from there. I don't know how it is now, but when I was a kid it was a awesome place to live! My dad (Joe Stecklein) is good friends with the Marino's.
