Proper respect for a gender has nothing to do with the above.

I suggest you direct your comment to the Ashland population.

LOL You can't be serious? I didn't find the people to be rude there at all, but they are cliquish and, the over-all mindset of the natives is a little behind, IMO.

I can't comment on the schools except from what I heard from other people, so I won't comment.

I don't think I ever saw a polluted lake or river - that was a big plus! I lived next to the Applegate River - as in my property actually went into the river, and it was crystal clear - unless of course it had rained. The portion of water that was on our land was rather deep compared to the rest of the river and we could see to the bottom quite easily.

There are some places where trees haven't been replanted like they're supposed to be, but over-all, I would hardly call them pilaged......lol That's just nuts!

I5 has a wonderfull thing going for it, it can show you out in TWO different directions. If you cant find it, I for one would be happy to show you where to find it. Don't stop in Washington though, you may want to keep going until you hit Canada. If your heading South, feel free to stop in California.

Jobs are nearly non-existant and if you're lucky enough to get one, the wages are so low it's pitiful. The crime rate is very high, and the local Police department cut back to only 3 officers because of a lack of funding. The local libraries have closed in Grants Pass and Medford due to lack of funding.

The economy on the whole is in dire straights in Oregon, but especially in the southern part of the state. Income tax and property taxes are very high.

I also found the over-all mindset of most men, about 50 years behind times. They're male chauvanists.
Where is this place where you are setting the bar for how men should act in 2007? How do YOU know that oregon men are not acting the way nature intended, and the rest are just freaks...you don't know do you?

I don't think it's too much to expect to be treated like women have a brain, can make decisions, and contribute to society.

I'm not a big women's libber if that's what you think.

I just found it rude for conversations regarding any kind of money, or large "family" decisions to be directed to my husband - right while I was sitting there too - even though my income was being considered as well. Or, to have a conversation with a man, and him telling me to relay the info to my husband so he can make a decision. Or, question me when I'm writing a check as to whether or not my husband will approve. Or, that my name was left off of the utilities entirely and as a result, I had to pay deposits when my husband and I seperated. Or when men were trespassing on my land to fish or hunt, they wouldn't listen to me when I asked them to leave - and they made rude jokes in front of me about it.

And you get this in Plano Texas....Im familiar with the Dallas Area, Thats a backward place if I ever saw one. You have to travel to Austin just to find someone intelligent enough to have a conversation. Its one thing to have some one on our coast (california) snobbing Oregon. Its even worst for an east coaster, but I just can not tolerate a Texan dishing out the garbage. Yikes alive man

LOL I'm hardly a Texan and yes, I agree with you the people here are pretty snobbish. I've never found them unintelligent though.

P.S. By the very fact that you choose to change the subject and not address my comments just reinforces what I already said......about 50 years behind times.

who knows why men don't feel your to be taken seriously. Maybe you project it in your behavior. Im in Sales, and when either a man (or a woman) act like they are not allowed, or able to make the decision alone, we call them one leggers, they need the other leg, anotherwords the other spouse. I don't want to talk to a person who isnt the decision maker. Why waste time on them. Perhaps a shot gun is your answer for the men that don't get off your property. Oh and your location says your from Plano Texas, so either you just left there or are dogging Oregon from THAT location.

I can understand what you're saying......but a couple are married, they are partners, "usually" they make their decisions "together," or if only one is present, that person makes it if they feel comfortable. Why assume a woman needs to ask permission?

lol yes, a shotgun would have been good.

I moved to Plano last March, from Oregon. By the way, happy Thanksgiving.
