Are you looking for something with a house already on it? I've only flown over Colorado but you might want to check out somewhere in or around Roseburg.

I would suggest just getting online and start looking. Be sure to check out the regulations regarding use on the land in the county you choose - and, any pending approvals for various activities in the area too, as in rock quarrying, timber cutting, etc. It could have a huge impact on the area noise or traffic wise.....or, bring down the value of property in the area. It also doesn't hurt to research both state and local taxes. Oregon taxes property in 5 acre increments.

Good luck to you.

Portland is the best.Yes we have rain. For abour three or four mo out of the year it seems to rain every day. Maby a lot maby a little. All day or for an hour. It's not that bad and you'll never find more beauty. You have big city with small town feel. And the best people, great schools and awsome health care.I have been to southern Ca and have to say yes it was warm but I missed all my trees and flowers around here and the people. They say hello and good morning and how r u?Down there no one really even wanted to make real eye contact, I felt alone and don't plan to go back.I'm sure It's fine where you r, but it was just not for me.Portland is the best.If your planning to come for a visit you should bring everything you own becouse you'll never want to leave.good luck

ladysrodgers,
you needs to get your facts straight before you you start ragging on Grants Pass. First it was not the GP Police that downsized, it was the Josephine Country Sheriff's Department because the federal government took away O&C logging funds. Grants Pass Police has over 20 officers not 3 as you reported.
Also Grants Pass library was closed also because of those federal funds being cut but Medford's and all of Jackson Country libraries are open. I don't believe you have the right to disrespect this town just because you had a few bad experiences.
I'm sorry but you need to stop acting like the typical Califorina with your nose in the air just because Grants Pass is a little slower than Southern California. What were you expecting?
High crime rate? Are you kidding me...you lived in the Applegate Valley I'm sure the crime was horrible (eye roll) Grants Pass has the same old crime as any town of 30,000 which I bet is a heck of a lot better than bigger cities in California.

Yes it was a beautiful area I left, unfortunately, that's all I found it had going on for it.
Hmmm...I could think of a few thinks..the great climate, the Rogue River running right through it, affordable living and the great community activities. Obvious you didn't get into town much because there are lots of great things going on in this town. For example First Friday Art Night, Bears Hotel, Art Along the Rogue, Hellgate Jetboat Excursions, and Grower's Market.

If anyone is interested in learning about the TRUE Grants Pass you need to visit the site "12 Great Places You've Never Heard Of"...

Funny thing the poster you commented on, if she lived in California, she might have SOMETHING to brag about, but the poster lives in hideous North Texas, by dallas. Once lived in Cali I think. For nasy bug, flat land, humid climate, low wage paying enthusiest, Texas is the best.

Grants pass also has Abbys Pizza...just thought I would throw that in. love the Taco Pizza

Im coming back to my beloved NW in a week or two, live almost every place in Wa and Oregon, well at least on I5. Next stop Wisonville.

hey live, how much are you looking to spend? Id suggest contacting different counties and asking for the reality magazines to be sent to you....that way, you can actually see pics/descriptions/asking price for what you want.....also, to compare prices from each area of Oregon. Ive never been to Colorado, so I dont know what terrain youre looking for...
personally, i do love Grants pass and the area around it....quite beautiful and people have always been very friendly to me. I got a wonderful job offer there not so long ago, we really concidered it, but we just cant leave our beloved coastline.
Best of luck to you!!!!!
Tiffany
ps, Welcome Home Sberdrow!!!!!

Funny thing is, I'm a California native who lived in that state for 50+ years.....I could care less what you have to say about Texas....I agree with your assessment of it.

Nothing I said was bragging, so get off your high horse.
