Ah, yes, I see you're a builder. That explains much.

Maybe with your 130 IQ and higher education, you should know better than to post disparaging remarks about people, and areas of the state you're not familiar with? Just a thought.

Thankyou, it is a noble profession that brings joy to others and provides a much needed service, seeing as so many more people wish to move here.

Bend (in the former state of Oregon)
My recent trip over to Bend was revolting. Despite a nice view filthy degenerate developers are busy paving Central Oregon over. There are tracts of proposed yuppie subdivisions circumventing the city for miles around. Where it will stop nobody knows. The traffic on US 97 grows slower by the day. It's tragic what has happened to the cesspool called Central (formerly) Oregon

It is a shame that building is being done on virgin ground instead of leveling the yucky stuff and starting over.
"They" want to turn 97 into a toll hwy! Can you imagine?

It is being done, land use laws in this state are geared towards it.
The drawback on a large scale in order to get rid of the "yucky stuff" would displace low income families, and eventually make them homeless.
A wise person once told me that the new homes today are the slums of tomorrow, it is the nature of this world, it can be adjusted over time, but the pattern will always repeat while we have the system that we do.

And maybe you should consider re-reading my post. Obviously I wasn't referring to some patch of land with a house on it located 12 miles north of Medford; I was referring to the market here in central Oregon. And in fact, since I have relatives in the areas of Portland, Salem, Newport, and Eugene, I can attest that the market is much the same in those locations as well.
But you're right... obviously I shouldn't post regarding the current costs/conditions in all the major areas of Oregon with which I am familiar if they don't exactly match the market "12 miles north of Medford."
Duh.

I just perused Zillow a bit. While I wasn't able to find the property "freedom" described, here is the least expensive home on acreage I was able to find listed on Zillow in the "north of Medford" area:
Zillow - 410 E. Dutton Rd, Eagle Point, OR 97524
At first glance, I'd say it looks to be a manufactured home. Built in 1977, square footage of 1,344, on just under an acre. Price listed is $220,000. Everything else I see listed is significantly higher priced. But that is just a quick look on Zillow. Obviously freedom, who is apparently currently living in that area, would know the market "12 miles north of Medford" better than I.
I hope that this URL may at least give readers just a bit more information, however.

There was nothing "obvious" at all about your post except your disdain for Californians, and blamed them for all of Oregon's woes.
You made a blanket statement about the entire state until you later specified you lived in Bend.
But you're right... obviously I shouldn't post regarding the current costs/conditions in all the major areas of Oregon with which I am familiar if they don't exactly match the market "12 miles north of Medford."

If you had done that, it would be fine, but you didn't until "after" you started talking with freedom.
