Default wine and cheese, coffee and cake along the coast

Which coastal towns have a social wine bar or bistro all winter; or a good bakery/coffee shop all winter?

Make your recommendations here for the best social centers in your coastal town.

Writing a travel article, are we? Don 't miss the Pig 'n Pancake in Astoria. Bridgeview Winery's **** Red is simultaneously subtle and pretentious.

(Rats, the software blanked the name of the wine, but that really is the name of the wine.) The coast is not noted for wines. Too cold and wet

lol, Larry--

No, I wish I were writing an article. I am looking for the perfect place to retreat to in the next year or two. Your is the only response--does that mean there are no social centers along the coast?

I figured every town had a coffee shop or donut shop, and maybe if I was lucky a few of the towns would have something other than a bar. Having lived in Portland a few short months, the first thing I noted was all the board games--and that means inside entertainment.
