Default Lake Oswego/West Linn Tax Burden?

What's the overall tax burden (including income, average property, local taxes) in Lake Oswego and West Linn? I can't seem to find data on those cities.

It seems the Portland tax burden is very high compared to other nearby cities. But the overall OR state average is low compared to other states (CNNMoney.com: Taxes by state 2005, by rate). So it seems the burden varies dramatically based on the city ...

Does anyone have a good pointer to a city-by-city comparison? We're having lots of discussions on the tax differences of WA vs. OR and are confused by the data we're seeing (state-by-state, OR is actually better than WA even though WA has no income tax - but Portland itself is way worse than Seattle according to Money Magazine).

Boy, I'd love to have taxes be a non-issue so we can move to Lake Oswego/West Linn instead of WA

Thanks

I guess you are talking about property taxes. It'll show that on the city pages at city-data. Check them out West Linn, Oregon (OR) Detailed Profile - relocation, real estate, travel, jobs, hospitals, schools, crime, news, sex offenders

The average rate for both West Linn and Lake Oswego is 1.1%

I guess I'm looking for more than the property taxes - are there local/city taxes that make the total tax burden more in Portland than in the surrounding cities? I'm trying to figure out why Portland is so high on the list of tax burden while OR in general is low compared to other states. What is Portland taxing on that other cities aren't? And are the cities right next to Portland at that same rate?
