It was in the Statesman Journal online three days ago. That's about when it was announced I think. It might not have made the print paper though.

Also reported by the Oregonian on the 27th.

It sounds like what Steve wants is not actually a newspaper, but a source of far right propaganda. I'm not sure that there are many such publications in Oregon, and the ones that do exist certainly aren't newspapers in any real sense of the word.

If you want a newspaper, pick one up and read it. The Oregonian generally does a good job. If you want a right wing editorial section, pick up the Albany Democrat Herald, where the editor routinely takes up space to go on crazed right wing rants that have only a passing connection with reality. If you don't really want news at all, then pick any right wing blog or radio show and get your rage on.

It's pretty sad that "news" is defined as whether or not some network is going to let some dude stay on his TV show.

Exactly. It's tabloid news, not news. It's funny since I'm sure many people who are passionate about this duck dynasty nonsense also despise 'Hollywood' and all their influence.

Give me a break.

Low rating shows have often pulled publicity stunts like this. It's free advertising, for a cable show that most people had never heard of. You can bet he's working off of a script, and his job was never in danger.

Sorry Larry, but it is the highest rated show on cable.

The problem with partisan media in general is that it became nationalized a while ago. Which means that it tends to recite "the party line" on national issues while overlooking or outright ignoring local affairs. Or if local affairs are covered, they are shoved into the national "left/right" framework rather than examined in a more local context.

The disposition of "Duck Dynasty" has no effect on Oregon water/timber/land use debates, but due to media consolidation, that's the story that would be promoted as mattering to Oregon conservatives. I'd rather have a return to localism and a disengagement from national political currents which have little regard for Oregon-specific interests.

I'd suggest reading entertainment magazines if you want to keep tabs on your television shows, Steve.

I'm no fan of Duck Dynasty and have never watched the show, but liberals, not conservatives were the ones who started the kerfuffle which ended up being a national story.

The "Patriarch" of the Dynasty gave an interview where he said things that offended some liberals who then created the fuss.

No one was arguing over who started it , but thanks for the clarification?
