Default Dufur and The Dalles, Oregon

Can anyone assist me on a couple of places we are hoping to move to?
I might have a job offering in Dufur, Oregon. I enjoy the smaller town lifestyle, however I'm not sure living in as small of a place as Dufur. What are the winters like? How much snow do you get? How are the schooling systems in that area? Is there any towns in between The Dalles and Dufur that are nice places to live?

Thanks for your time.

Dufur-it's a tiny old farming community. They grow wheat. It is not in a forested area so the land just has sparse brush growing. It's so small there just not a lot there except a school. Most people go into The Dalles to do shopping. It gets cold with some snow during winter. The amount of snow varies from year to year. On average you might get about 3 snow storms that'll dump down snow and stay frozen on the ground for a while. Having a four wheel drive truck would help you get around.

It'll get hot, and dry during summer. That whole area around The Dalles gets windy too.

The only place between those 2 towns is a place so small it doesn't even show up on most maps. It's called Boyd. No there is nothing much there but maybe a farm or two.

Thumbs up thanks for the information

Thanks for the information. Sorry I asked so many questions, however you seem to know a lot about the area. The snow information is nice along with the size of town and wind. Thanks for your time.
