Husband may be getting hired at GP in Wauna, so I'm curious about moving from NW Washington to somewhere near Wauna. Looks hard to find a place to rent until we find a home to buy. Wondering if it be better to live in Washington like Calamet or Longview or in Oregon? Any thoughts here?

Hey, just to let you know our family took a trip there recently. All I can say is that Clatskanie, Oregon is the nearest town to Wauna. About 10 miles east. Population 1,850. It looks a lot like Concrete, WA. The major grocery store there is Safeway. The town & people are nice. If you wanted to stay in Washington you could live either in Kelso or Longview, Washington. It is less than 20 min. drive. Astoria, Oregon is about 30 min. west of Wauna. The only thing that I noticed in Wauna was the huge GP plant. That is about it. Good luck in your venture there.
