Hi Everyone,

I am hoping I can get a good vibe from some Oregonians on moving to the Astoria/Seaside area.
I am familiar with the area though its been about 9 years since I hung out. I stayed for a period of six months, though I did not have to seek employment I did find the area refreshing.
I would like to know what really is the best time to move to the area?
Is there a good choice of temporary housing?

To give everyone an idea of a time line I am thinking after the first of the year. If I have to delay it a month I could possibly work something out.

Let me thank everyone ahead of time for you advice and thoughts.

The best time is right after you find a job if you need to work for a living.

Astoria eh?

Let's start out with, "What do you think you know about the area?"

Second question, "What sort of job do you think you are going to get or what sort of job do you want?"

Lastly, "What is your definition of 'best time'"? Best weather? Most opportunities to possibly find a place to live?

Astoria is basically a town that is built around it's commercial fishing fleet and merchant shipping. Tourism has been on the rise there lately, so there are a few more retail type job opportunities if they actually have any openings.

"Refreshing" is hardly a word I would use to describe it, but it is a nice place to visit and get away for a bit.
