Xtin, from what you described your wants, I would suggest Bend, great outdoor activities both summer and winter, one of Oregon best skiing locations is just a few miles away. Bend has grown allot in the last few years to a population of 75,000 but it still retains that small town atmosphere.

Default Portland Oregon

Hi! This is the first time I have ever blogged so here goes! Anyway, my husband and I are in RE (real estate brokers) in Oregon and live in the Lake Oswego area....just go to our website @ [URLMod cut[/url] and see how great this area is! I did a quick search and found a lot of wonderful homes in your price-range! I have lived here all my life (we've been real estate brokers for 12 years) and I would recommend it to anybody! You will love our majestic mountains, awesome Pacific Ocean, beautiful Central Oregon, the crazy beautiful Columbia River Gorge, etc., etc., etc.,....it is just absolutely an amazing place to explore and a wonderful place to live! Good Luck to wherever life takes you but if you want to see some of this area just send us an e-mail :-) Have a beautiful holiday!

If I didn't need to be near a big metro area for business - and why we are selling to move eventually - I'd pick Sherwood, Banks, North Plains or Wilsonville.

All outer west suburbs.

Not far from the coast.

All are full-service cities with good schools that can be found in each.

I don't like living in the gorge winds on the east side of Portland. And I like going to the ocean every week in summer, and bi-weekly the rest of the year. And the ocean is only 1 hour away from the Banks to Hillsboro area.

I live in bend and have been here 20 years it is a very nice area but you have to bring a job with you or you will starve, property is very expensive. There is crime and a lot of undesireables. get away society. A lot of people from california have moved here and they will tell you so. We are in the process of looking to relocate ourselves soon. about every 8 years we get a lot of snow
