There is an excellent article in today's New York Times written by Oregon resident Tim Neville on the making of the movie "Wild." All but seven of the location scenes were made in Oregon. I was unable to make the URL work, but typing -- On the "Wild" Movie Trail in Oregon -- on the search line should bring the article up.

As an aside, on a tip from an Oregon friend, we recently watched another Oregon-made movie called "Redwood Highway," which begins with scenes in Ashland and ends with beach scenes near Brookings. The main actors were Shirley Knight and Tom Skerritt.

I'm looking forward to seeing the movie, "Wild." It looks interesting. And the fact that it was filmed in Oregon is a big bonus!!!!

I hear the book is good, and I am sure the movie will be visually beautiful, but I can't stand Reese Witherspoon's acting, so I probably won't see it, or at least not pay to see it.

The movie was a real tear-jerker! Oregon is such a gorgeous state, too!
