Head to the Coast and bring your cameras.
With the Sea Storms lined up and coming ashore, it's worth the time to see the surf crashing in today. Like the people inland who look forward to their first Snow of the season, we on the Coast get excited seeing our first Sea Storm of the season. The ocean is churning out there today.

I'm keeping an eye out on the storm. I was wondering how you are all doing on the oregon coast. I looked at the trip check camera for Seaside.(wow) I am in the Eugene area (LOT OF RAIN WILL NOT STOP). All the street lights went out on Main street today . People lost power but it is back on for now. Lane county has a fload wacth warning. But this is nothing compared to the coast and Washington.

well, not a prayer of getting to Tillamook right now! Poor guys out there, man, I hope its not gonna come to the floating cows again, but from the looks of the pics, it wouldnt surprise me!!! Theres some really nice houses on Gleneden beach that are inches from being dropped into the sea. Pretty scary!!!
South coast, we're wet, but it soaks up real fast. I just drove home from work, and it looks pretty typical. I ddint even hit any real puddles! lol I tell ya though, I live right on the bay, and when tide was in, i was keeping a bit of a nervous eye on it! lol
Seashelly is so right. Oregons sea storms are hard to beat!!! Not to mention, sometimes some real treasures can wash up! Just stay away from the logs!!! and watch for them sneaker waves.

Bring your cameras? How much dark gray with 50 ft. of visibility could one want to save for future reference?

It looks like the rain has slowed down to nothing much, but they expect a new storm to come in on friday. That'll give us a lttle while to dry out before the next one. If we get the some sun out it'll make for a colorful sunset.
Yes Tillamook gets a load of rain during winter but it's a nice place to visit during summer.

Because Steve, if you stand behind the stone wall rail at Cape Arago's Shore Acres, the breakers literally boom and crash as they smash against the rocks and cliffs within those 50 or so feet. I always think if someone put those picture to patriotic music, what a 4th of July!

I think steve is off his meds again, find your happy place steve-o, the coast is beautiful to capture during storms. Seashelly if you make a slide show and put vivaldi's four seasons to it that works too.
Enjoy the weather

Today would be an incredible day to get some good shots - FROM UP HIGH AT A VIEWPOINT!!!!!! - I can see the breakers from my house, and they are simply astounding!! I may have to leave the kiddies at home w/dad when he gets home and go see a bit closer for myself. Storms like the one last night dont come along every year here! But PLEASE....anyone who comes to check it out, Stay OFF the Beaches!!! Ive heard about some of the massive logs that are still today being tossed up on shore like twigs. One of those smacks into you and you sure as heck wont be worrying about anything ever again!! Ive seen a few idiots w/their surfboards heading out today...Makes me wonder how many bodies the Coast Guard will be searching for.........
So anyhow, we have some awesome viewpoints up high and safe to go observe natures fury in the ocean today - if you get a chance, it should be well worth it!
btw, its fairly clear out today too...cold and crisp, but I definatly see some blue sky and no rain here (so far)

I think Beethoven's 9th would be better!!!
We love going to Depoe Bay and watching the water shoot up and soak the cars and people in the parking lot. And staying at the Inn at Spanish Head is really impressive!!!!
