Default Trains In Silverton??

My wife and I are considering moving to Silverton. We drove around today and saw a few homes. However, they are only 2-3 blocks from the railroad tracks. Just wondering 1) If these tracks are still in operation? 2) If yes, how often do trains roll through?

Thanks, Jason

I have heard the trains twice since we moved here - which was right after Christmas. Slow movers - never did see either train. We're about a block and a half from the tracks.
I think it's pretty-much a non-issue.
Pssst ... you're gonna like it here.
