A great one about freight-hopping depression-era hobos. The Emperor of the North (Pole).
The fight scene where Ernest Borgnine and Lee Marvin battle using boards, axes, fists, teeth and nails, is one of the greatest: Emperor of the North Pole (1973) Used this historic Oregon railroad: OPandErailroad |

"Paint Your Wagon" was filmed at Eagle Creek outside of Baker City. There has also been a number of John Wayne films in Southern Oregon, I can't remember the names of them right at the moment. The made for TV movie, "After Sunset" was also filmed in Portland.

"Oregon State Hospital, the mental institution where the 1975 movie "One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest" was filmed, is making way for a new complex. Most of the dilapidated, 125-year-old main building will be torn down and replaced starting this fall."

My dad was in the hospital there when that was filmed ."One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest" . He spent a year there instead of prison. He was an extra but it got clipped. The really big indian guy in the movie was also a patient. Parts of "Management" was filmed last year in Madras Oregon. Staring Jenifer Aniston and Steve Zahn. Coming out soon.

Disaster in Time, 1992, filmed around Oakland. Cheesy movie, but one of my favorite guilty pleasures. Jeff Daniels sci-fi. How to Beat the High Cost of Living, 1980, filmed in Eugene. Susan St. James, Jane Curtin, Jessica Lange as housewifes robbing the Valley River Center Brainsmasher ... a Love Story, 1993, filmed in Portland. The loathesome Andrew Dice Clay. The Hunted, 2003, filmed around Portland Benicio del Toro being hunted by Tommy Lee Jones. Broken Noses, 1987, in Portland A great documentary about boxing. Jackass, The Movie, 2002, around Portland Who can forget the Jackass boys came mostly from Portland, and so filmed here! An oldie, but a goodie, that was filmed in Oregon was Bend of the River. Who can forget Jimmy Stewart on Mt.Hood! There were a lot of made-for-tv movies made around Portland that I know of, about in the 80-90s when filming here really boomed. Can't remember titles. Dead by Sunset was one. There was one about a woman who'd unknowingly raised a kidnapped baby, and the birth mother showed up (good movie ... can't remember the name). And who can forget that they filmed the movie about the first boming of the World Trade Center here. 'Cause you know Portland looks so much like New York. |

So many movies made in Oregon.
![]() Was "Without a Paddle" made there and what about "Overboard" with Kurt Russell and Goldie Hawn? I don't know if they were actually made there or just used the name Oregon in the story line. ![]() |
