The Saturday Market. I just love to see handcrafted items and people watch.

At a first glance, I thought you stated you liked the 'handcuffed' people at Saturday Market. As there are plenty of those types (courtesy of the local police) as well, I have to say I enjoy them both. I've bought some nice pottery there over the years.

Cornerguy: Did you check out the hot springs when you were at Hart Mtn.?

Afraid not. Yet another thing to put on the to do list.

I too love Klamath for it's location so close to a wide variety of vegetation, topography, and climate zones.

I spent 5 years in Klamath County and loved every minute of it.

Back in the mid 90's I took several hikes through the Red Buttes Wilderness that straddles the Oregon/California border. I thought it was wonderful.
Another neat place was the Kalmiopsis. Since my last visit was in 2000, I haven't seen what, if anything, the Biscuit fire did to it in 2002.
For peace, solitude and dynamite scenery those two are tough acts to follow.

The Columbia Gorge, Eagle Creek Trail my favorite to hike. About half way was a high bridge which looked down onto a creek far below. The waterfalls were beautiful. Hiked it many times, as well as most all the other trails, but this one was my favorite.

The Mountain Lakes Wilderness area has a 2.5 mile hike in particular with 5 lakes around it. One of them, Lake Natasha, is the clearest lake in the world for its size. Thirty feet of glass.

Camped there when I was a teen - beautiful & peaceful. You don't see anyone. Watch for mosquitoes en mass and porcupines who like to mess up your rig.
