Default Perspective from a Wanderer

As a 40-year old military woman (10th generation Floridian) who has lived all over the world, from Texas to Thailand, Mexico to Montana and everywhere in between...

I settled on Jantzen Beach 2 years ago and find PORTLAND, OREGON is absolutely the best place I've ever lived, everything considered. I'm not saying I earn the most money here. Certainly not. I'm not saying hubby does his best work as a musician here. Obviously not....

What I AM saying is that if you are looking for a good mix of culture, work, transportation, and education, and YOU UNDERSTAND WHAT'S AVAILABLE IN THE REST OF THE WORLD, ESPECIALLY IF YOU'VE TRAVELLED EUROPE...

Portland is IT. Life is a compromise. Get used to it. I certainly have....

Thanks for telling us about it Bubba Cue. It's good to know. Yes I've done some traveling in my time and I find Oregon is the best place to be for me. Portland is one of the best big cities you could hope to live in. Enjoy your stay!

Bubb--My DH is a retired Naval Officer, so I definitely understand what you are saying, lol! I was born and raised here in OR, and when he retired we came back asap. And we have traveled to Europe a handful of times, with more trips planned. Moving all over the place, and traveling, sure does open ones eyes, but I wouldn't change it for the world either!
