Default Thinking of moving to Forest Grove, Help!!

I just came back to Oregon from Idaho. I'm stuck in some slumloard apartments, makeshift motel types in Albany because my sister got my transition all messed up. I have two children and i want a NICE place to live. I grew up in Oregon so I know the kind of slum that hibernates in these woods. So can anyone tell me if Forest grove is yet another one of those slum towns? I hope not, I'm really getting sick of getting stuck in trashy places. I have to get on subsidized housing so its hard to aviod, but let me tell you some areas are really worse than others. I would hope to get into a place that has at least most of the tenants in similar positions as myself, ie as in they are not poor because of drug habbits and actually plan on moving ahead in life and caring for their families. Sooo, Forest grove, has it been infected yet? If so, are there any nice areas around the coast or northern area minus portland?
