Nell Plotts
i really don't know how to thank you for your precious advices in both school and life
Actually i like to sit with people who are older than me and learn from their experinces.
having parties is not the reason that has made decide to leave home and come to USA.
learning new things , exchanging new information with people from the whole world and trying to live and merce myself in a culture that is different than mine are reasons.
sometimes people make joke about me because i look about 30 years old while i am only 19 years old beside i lost part of my hair ( i don't know why) as a result sometimes they call me (my grandfather ) looooooool so i don't think girls will attract to me looooool.
right now i doing my best to improve my english by watching movies, reading english books and talking with my dady in english.
The most problem that i face in my writting in general in arabic and english is
not organizing my ideas maybe you have noticed that my ideas aren't organized
my english teacher always tell that my english is pretty good , including my speaking
but he says that i am facing a problem with not organizing my ideas .
i have dreamed that my economics teacher ( from USA ) was crying when he came to class and said that he wants to go back to his mom in New Mexico .
so i have dreamed in english looooooooooooool
best wishes:

To put a little prospective on my advise, I am 67 and a Grandmother. You are still very young and you will have freedoms that you don't at home. Go slow and focus on your studies. Many Universities have summer programs for foreign students that will help with English proficiency and teach you the little things you need to know.. like how to do laundry and where to find food that you like. If that is available enroll in that program.

After college I dated a Columbia Law School Grad student from Beirut for a while. I do have a clue or two.

The main reason that made choose USA among other coutries that are having the same reasons like: Canada , UK or Australia is the excellent quility of education in the US
i wish that my home has half the excellent education quility that is USA having.
i have lived in Canada for 6 months alone so i know what will i encounter in the USA
i learnt a lot from that's experince which made know how to deal with the different and new things in your culture
note:
i didn't understand what do you mean by this sentance ( I do have a clue or two ) ??
best wishes:

"I do have a clue or two" was intended to convey that I have had some personal exposure to the values of Sunni intellectuals who international in their social and life experience. Many in the US only know of the extremes of the Arab world. It is my observation that we are more similar than different in what we find important, particularly family.

I absolutely love Oregon and you will a community in Corvallis that will welcome you. But, Charlotte is 6+ hours closer by air to your family.

Family is very important. Be sure to sign up for Internet long distance so you can keep in touch (I visit with my out of town children by webcam). For parents our children are the manifestation of our hope for the future. You honor them by giving education your best effort.

Best wishes to you too,

Your American Grandmother

We are also considering between the two cities. What is the vibe and pace of life in Corvallis? Is it a coffee house culture? Any cool downtown or shopping area that people like to hang out?
