Have you looked in Glendale? It is a small quaint little town, not far from Canyonville, there are many homes for sale as well, very reasonable for So. Oregon.
If memory serves me right it is about 15 miles south of the Casino.

Umpqua Transit runs busses from Winston to Sutherlin, passing through Roseburg in each direction. Since you don't drive, pick a place to live that is close to bus service.

Bus Route

If you get a job at the casino in Canyonville, the casino runs shuttle busses to just about all the retirement centers in Roseburg. Maybe you could catch one of them to work? Otherwise, a car pool might be your only option. There is no public bus service between Roseburg and Canyonville.

Hi, maybe you could try renting a room in someone's home with a yard, if they don't mind kitties. Lots of older folks have an extra room or two they would like to make a little money on, or they would like the security of having someone living in the house with them. It would give you a start and let you get to know the town. Where exactly is Canyonville, anyway?
