Thanks for the link. I missed when they talked about the article on the local news last night. I didn't think it was a very a good article. Bend the new Boulder? (I lived in Boulder for several years, many years ago - Bend today reminds me of what Boulder was like thirty-five years ago. They are no longer very similar). The article mentioned three of the more expensive neighborhoods to live in - and one of them, Pronghorn, isn't even in Bend and is a "destination resort". I got the feeling the writer has never visited here.

I wouldn't call Bend the new Boulder. Economically, it's in deep trouble. The LA comment is from so many South Californians moving up. Not that it's a bad place, it's just hard to make a living or buy a house (though that will be getting easier IF you have a good job).
Bend has no university - a bit of a connection to OSU, but not a lot.
