Strange cults in Mcminnville??
Has anyone ever experienced any strange cult activity in Mcminnville? Or any other odd family behavior from the rural community (such as farmers)? ANY info or personal experience would be GREATLY appreciated!!! THANK YOU!

My husband and I lived in McMinnville for a year before he accepted a permanent position on the coast. McMinnville, IMO, is lovely. Hot in the summer, pretty downtown area and the land surrounding it is pretty much wine and farming country. As for cults, I suppose if you look for cults anywhere you can find them. We didn't find anything at all strange in McMinnville.

As a former rancher I must ask you this question: since when do farmers/ranchers create religious cults?

"Odd family behavior"? "Farmer"?
Well, my dad was part of our family and had been a farmer. I used to think it odd that he ate red chile peppers out of the jar. Does that qualify?
Is that what you're talking about?
Hope that helps...

"Cults" can crop up anywhere.
There are two religious groups in the mid-Wmt Valley that some may not be aware of: Old Believers and Mennonites.
Old Believers have their roots in the Russian Orthodox Church and fled Russia (largely to China) to escape Stalin. Many have moved to South America.
The Mennonites are distinctive because of the caps women wear (there are other identifiers but that is the most obvious). They have been characterized as the modern Amish, they are from the same reformist movement.
