I love your pictures but... as a policeman my advice would be never post any with children on the internet

With the information you have provided in posts on here... and some simple internet skills it would be very easy to find them

A mod or you can delete this thread.. sad.. but it is the world we live in and our "home" when expanded to include the world is defiantly NOT safe
Thank you Mr Policeman, I was always told this and was surprised my comment caused a bit of a stir. I certainly never implied anyone was a horrid mother.

What started out as a wonderful thread ended in a sad way. Tiffany has been nothing but helpful to me in our families visit and anticipated move to Oregon. And in her genuine effort to help others like our family she posted some awesome pictures. I really did enjoy them.

I am also a parent who 'on occasion' will share some pictures of my family. I think every parent needs to be aware of the danger. And discretion is important. Does that mean I will 'never' post a photo of my family online? It is definitely something to think about.

But as an avid photographer I don't think I would say never. That is a decision every parent needs to carefully consider though. I can say also as a photographer that there are many photos of children online from various photographer's portfolios, etc... Of course those are posted with the consent of the parents. Should those all be taken down as well?

Obviously no one wants children to hurt in any way. But how far does one go with it? I think balance is the key for our family. I can't lock my kids in a room until they are grown. But as a father of three beautiful children I am concerned about predators as well.

Anyway thanks again for sharing Tiffany. I appreciate your sincere effort in helping others on this forum.

- Derek

Nanannie..everything was said with the best of intentions on everyone's part. Please don't you start worrying, too. I disagree with a few of notmeofficer's statements...but, maybe the Mod or Admin could just delete the entire thread to make everyone feel better.

If one has a concern about someone's safety on here, perhaps contacting them in a private DM with your concerns would keep the waters a bit more calm.

Thanks for the support, suggestions, and advice from many of you. I in no way, anticipated the reactions of some when I posted the pictures. I was just excited to be able to share some pics of around the area, and didnt think about that maybe somebody on here might be lurking for perverted reasons. I am surprised, others have posted pics w/children in them and my thread was the first to get any comments about that. But, after the direction this thread took, i decided to completely remove all the pictures. Finally figured out how to do it too. For those of you that enjoyed the pictures for the beautiful scenery, Im glad to have shared and shown that it is a beautiful area that we can go about in short sleeves and play in the water in April/May and that the sky is clear and blue here, NOT always gloomy as some claim.
I might post more pics eventually......
Tiffany

So I am reading along thinking, what is WRONG with my computer? I don't see any photos?

They must be really really great and I am missing them. ....then I get to the end. Did you take them off?

Also I am looking for pictures of the rivers and trees near coos bay and all I see are the ocean shots on most sites.

I deleted all of them.....I think the suggestion of deleting this entire thread is a good one....its not serving any purpose and i dont want people disappointed when they open this thread and bango, no pics.
Esya, do an advanced google search, with Empire Lakes and Coos Bay. Theres some good sites w/pics of the lakes and trails...
