Make sure you are on the main Oregon forum, not one of the sub forums.

Click on Search the Forum on the right side of your screen.

Click on Advanced Search.

Enter Florence in the Keyword(s) box.

Right below this you will see Search Entire Posts. Click it and choose Search Titles Only.

Then click on Search Now near the bottom of the screen and you will see many threads about Florence.

Florence is a good town for retirement or recreation. The biggest negative I know of is that West Lane county actually wants to secede from Lane County

You would have to know the inside politics like I do to understand, and I am not sure I want to go into it right now.

The group advocating secession would most likely have no part in your enjoyment of the area. But jobs are rare so have one before you move there and it is one of the more affluent coastal towns.

All those 'succeed' groups are seeking attention. It isn't going to happen.

The drive from Florence to Eugene isn't daunting. If you like the Florence all things being equal I say go for it.

They aren't being very successful at seeking attention because I haven't heard a mum of anything like what Steve said in the year we've been here.
