Default Did anyone else enter?

I entered the essay contest to win a home at the beach in Yachats. You have to write a 100 word (or less) essay and there is an entry fee of $200.
The home belongs to a retired couple who have lived there for 11 years, then had some health challenges and are doing this contest after being unable to sell their home due to the declining real estate market. The contest has been extended to a final deadline of June 30. They need to get about 800 more (of 3000 total) entries in order to declare a winner. There are a few more monetary prizes also.

Anybody else enter this contest?

It would be nice for someone to win and for the current owners to be able to achieve their goal. It seems like they've put alot of effort into this. I know $200 dollars is quite a sum for most of us and definitely needed for other essentials, but if you or someone you know might be interested you can get more info at their website Win This Home, Yachats Oregon.

I'm not affiliated with the contest except as an entrant who stumbled onto this. If you're not entering, wish me luck! And if you are, good luck to you!

I would love to enter but can't afford the taxes on the winnings.

I wrote a blog about this when it was first started and had several folks comment that they entered. Good luck to you!

I did see some information about that on the news but I did not enter it. I didn't figure I'd have much chance of winning. All I can say is I hope they pick a winner with a few dollars in their pocket because they'll need to pay property tax after a while.

jlwalters is on a distinguished road
What finally happened with this contest? Was there an eventual winner? And how did it work out financially for the owners?

The owners couldn't get enough entries so they couldn't hold the contest. They refunded people's money.
