My boyfriend and I are planning on taking a trip to Mt. Hood this August. I've received conflicting information on the weather during this time of year. Can someone tell me what it's like? Is it very hot? How about the humidity, it is high?

We're in FL, and we're definitely looking to escape this nasty, humid weather for a while!

Thanks. : )

Mt. Hood should be beautiful in August. Humidity is basically non-existant compared to Texas, Florida, etc. It can get hot, sometimes up to 100 degrees, but in Oregon it just depends on the day. We had a 100 degree day a couple weeks ago and today it's cloudy and rainy 62 degrees. August should be warmer though.

It depends on what you are planning for. Mt. Hood is known nationally for deaths of people who go off on day hikes or overnights unprepared. Mountains can have severe, freezing weather at a moment''s notice so if you leave your car go well prepared. If you are just driving up to look at the lodge and take a stroll, then a windbreaker that is waterproof would be enough. I know a girl who used to go to Mt. Hood for a ski training camp every summer--from Colorado.
