Hello All!
I'm currently living on the southern coast and recently put my house on the market in the BIG HOPE (along with a lot of praying) to sell and move to Newport or in that proximity. Will be taking another road trip up that way in the next few weeks. Can any of you beachcombers out there steer me toward some beaches that are off the beaten path? Are there any that are particularly good for looking for sea glass? Thanks much! |

Hi Trueblue. I collect seaglass too. Do you make jewelry out of it or just display it to enjoy it?

There's a hidden beack just north of Lincoln City only available at very low tides. I found a blood red agate once and there are agate beds where I've seen an elderly woman using a small shovel looking for rocks. You walk to the end of the bech from Road's End wayside at low tide and just continue around the rocks at the end. Walk along the rocky ridge and you'll come to the beach. But watch the tides!

Thanks Blazer Prophet,
When you refer to Road's End, is that where a very popular restaurant and gathering for locals burned down? Since the fire, the business has relocated and has a new name or am I off track? |

No, haven't delved into making jewelry but have displayed it in a vase. Was kinda thinking more along the lines of applying the glass to picture frames or making a small mosaic.

Yes, it was The Dory Cove. It was very tragic for us. It has been relocated to the other end of Lincoln City and is now called Captain Ron's. |
